Osun APPPS urges Osun elected
lawmakers to fulfil campaign promises
The Association of Progressive Political Parties in
the State of Osun (Osun APPPS) has advised all the elected lawmakers from the
state in the House of Assembly, House of Representatives and the House of
Senate not to break their campaign promises made to their electorates during
and after this year general elections.
The group in a statement signed by Mr. Wole Adedoyin,
its State Chairman who is also the Chairman of the Hope Democratic Party (HDP)
stated that defaulting on their promises would amount to profanity and betrayal
of trust.
“Citizens and government
development efforts should work side by side. However, in this situation some
projects of the past elected lawmakers are almost non-existing in some
communities. We are urging elected lawmakers in either State Assembly or House
of Representatives and Senate from the state to rise and discharge their
democratic obligation by bringing dividends of democracy to their electorates”
Adedoyin said.
Osun
APPPS finally urged Osun Citizens to report any elected House of Assembly, Rep
or Senate members who fail to embark on community development projects from the
Constituency development funds given to them by the Federal government or
diverted the funds for personal use to Economic and Financial Crimes Commission
(EFCC) or The Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC).
