There is nothing like IPAC Interim Committee in Osun State, Gov. Oyetola should be careful dealing with them – Osun APPPS

THERE IS NOTHING LIKE IPAC INTERIM COMMITTEE IN OSUN STATE, GOV. OYETOLA SHOULD BE CAREFUL DEALING WITH THEM – OSUN APPPS

The Association of Progressive Political Parties (APPPS) in Osun State has debunked the rumour going round that some malicious and hunger-stricken individuals operating under Osun IPAC Interim Committee, which is alien to Osun INEC and IPAC Code of Conduct have taken over IPAC in Osun.

This was contained in a press statement issued and signed by the Association’s Chairman and Secretary, Mr. Wole Adedoyin and Elder Adeloye Ogunmodede.

According to the Statement, “Pastor Olatunji Popoola remains the democratic and duly elected Chairman of Osun IPAC. He emerged Osun IPAC Chairman in an election where 72 registered political parties participated including the latest 18 political parties organized by the national representatives of IPAC National in persons of Isa B. Dansarki and Edime O. Joseph and INEC representative in person of HOD of Election and Party Monitoring, EPM Department Mrs. Folake Amal Agboola.”

Another Statement reads

“It is not new that some malicious individuals met in a beer parlour and not in INEC office amid Covid-19 pandemic and created a faction which they codenamed “Osun IPAC Interim Committee”

The Osun IPAC Interim Committee was set up by some fraudulent and hunger-stricken individuals whose vision is to loot and embezzle any fund gotten from Gov. Oyetola through their newly created initiative which is new and alien to IPAC Code of Conduct which is guiding the operations and activities of the Council.

Osun APPPS however, said the recent achievements of IPAC under Popoopla’s leadership had become a threat to some malicious individuals who are doing everything to tarnish his image and good work.

The body expressed optimism that IPAC under Pastor Olatunji  Popoola would put more efforts in her activities and would record more successes. APPPS advised Osun Political Stakeholders to disregard whatever fake allegations levied against him by some impostors going by the name of Osun IPAC Interim Committee.

APPPS finally urged Osun IPAC members to remain peaceful, loyal, dedicated and committed as these are the only ways Osun IPAC under the state leadership of Pastor Olatunji Popoola can thrive for greatness.’’

Those who worked against Gov. Gboyega Oyetola in 2018 are the ones parading themselves Osun IPAC Interim Committee Members – Osun APPPS

THOSE WHO WORKED AGAINST GOV. GBOYEGA  OYETOLA IN 2018 ARE THE ONES PARADING THEMSELVES OSUN IPAC INTERIM COMMITTEE – OSUN APPPS

The Association of Progressive Political Parties in Osun State (Osun APPPS) has said those who worked against Gov. Oyetola Gboyega in 2018 are the ones parading themselves Osun IPAC Interim Committee. It also cautioned those miscreants and jobless politicians calling themselves Osun IPAC Interim Committee against causing crisis in the Council and in the state and lying about the position of political parties in the State, saying not all parties had been deregistered until the final judgment delivered by the court of law. Osun APPPS appealed to law enforcement agencies, especially the police, to be at alert in view of the tension building up; following illegal and unlawful interim committee setup by some aggrieved losers in IPAC aim at causing confusion and chaos in the State.

The Association made this known in a statement jointly issued and signed by her Chairman and Secretary, Mr. Wole Adedoyin and Elder Adeloye Ogunmodede.

The group said it observed some recorded and sponsored newspaper releases in national newspapers desperately trying to create a wrong impression of a non-existing strife within the Council.

It also noted that they were worried that the activities of these heartless and selfish individuals were affecting the existing unity and strength of the Council and the State.

According to the Statement:” Those causing chaos in IPAC are not only troublemakers but excellent illiterates. There is need for us to educate and inform those inciting crisis in IPAC that the court has not given final judgment on the fate of those parties deregistered recently. It would be recalled that INEC had, on Feb. 6, deregistered 74 political parties, leaving 18 others: Accord (A), Action Alliance (AA), African Action Congress (AAC), African Democratic Congress (ADC), Action Democratic Party (ADP), All Progressives Congress (APC), All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Allied People’s Movement (APM), Action People’s Party (APP), Boot Party (BP), Labour Party (LP), New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), National Rescue Movement (NRM), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), Social Democratic Party (SDP), Young Progressive Party (YPP), Zenith Labour Party (ZLP)  and in a motion on notice with suit number: FHC//ABJ/ CS/444/19 between Advanced Congress of Democrats (ACD) and 32 others Vs. Attorney General of the Federation and others, the applicants had approached the court for a restraining order.

Justice Anwuli Chikere of the Federal High Court, Abuja, on Monday 17th of February, 2020, restrained the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from deregistering 31 political parties. The names of the parties are: Advanced Congress of Democrats (ACD), Advanced Nigeria Democratic Party (ANDP), All Blending Party (ABP), All Grand Alliance Party (AGAP), Better Nigeria Progressive Party (BNPP), Democratic People’s Congress (DPC),
Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) and Green Party of Nigeria (GPN).

Also on the list are Mega Party of Nigeria (MPN), National Interest Party (NIP), Nigeria Democratic Congress Party (NDCP), People’s Party of Nigeria (PPN), People for Democratic Change (PDC), Peoples Coalition Party (PCP), Progressives Peoples Alliance (PPA) and Red-build Nigeria Party (RBNP).
Others are Restoration Party of Nigeria (RP), United Democratic Party (UDP), United Patriot (UP), We The People Nigeria (WTPN), Young Democratic Party (YDP), Save Nigeria Congress (SNC), Change Advocacy Party (CAP), Socialist Party of Nigeria (SPN) and All Grassroots Alliance (AGA).
Alliance of Social Democrats (ASD), Democratic Alternative (DA), New Generation Party of Nigeria (NGP), Mass Action Joint Alliance (MAJA), Nigeria For Democracy (NFD) and Masses Movement of Nigeria (MMN), also made the list.

Parties like Hope Democratic Party (HDP) and two others sued INEC independently. Till date, the final judgment has not been given due to the recent Covid-19 pandemic which restrained courts from performing their legal functions. Those who are EXCOS in IPAC and whose political parties approached the court of law for redress should be left until the Court gives their final judgment. High Chief Peter Ameh is still recognized as the authentic President of IPAC alongside his other EXCO members due to the case in court. Parties like APA,UPP, UPN and others whose National Chairmen recently confirmed they have fused into the ruling party APC should be the ones to be told to distance themselves from participating in the political activities of the state.

In Osun, those who called themselves Osun IPAC Interim Committee are disgruntled and miscreants who think it is only through IPAC Gov. Gboyega Oyetola can recognize them and give them juicy appointments. We have records and they are online that these demented beggars worked against Gov. Gboyega Oyetola in the 2018 Governorship elections. The Governor and members of his Cabinet can Google their names online and they would see that these people worked against their emergence in the state in 2018. Videos and press releases are there online.

Osun APPP finally urged Governor Gboyega Oyetola and his Cabinet to disregard the miscreants calling themselves Osun IPAC Interim Committee whenever they bring their begging bowls which primarily their reason of setting up their illegal and unconstitutional illegal interim committee in the state. The Statement reminded the Governor that Pastor Olatunji Popoola is the authentic IPAC Chairman in the state recognized by the INEC and the national headquarters of IPAC under the national leadership of High Chief Peter Ameh.

Political parties back Olatunji Popoola as IPAC Chairman; warn Gov. Oyetola to beware of Fraudsters parading themselves Osun IPAC Interim Committee.

Political parties back Olatunji Popoola as IPAC Chairman; warn Gov. Oyetola to beware of Fraudsters parading themselves Osun IPAC Interim Committee.

Members of the Association of Progressive Political Parties in Osun State (Osun APPPS) on Friday passed a Vote of Confidence on the duly elected Osun State Chairman of the Inter-party Advisory Council (IPAC) who is also the current Osun State Chairman of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Pastor Olatunji Popoola through an electronic platform. The group also commends his collaborative efforts with the State of Osun Government under the distinguished political leadership of His Excellency, Gov. Gboyega Oyetola.
The Association made this known in a statement jointly issued and signed by her Chairman and Secretary, Mr. Wole Adedoyin and Elder Adeloye Ogunmodede.
It will be recalled that Pastor Olatunji Popoola whose party APGA scaled through the recent deregistration process was elected and inaugurated alongside others as Osun IPAC Chairman last year in the presence of the national representatives of IPAC and the representative of Osun INEC at the state headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission.
The statement noted that the Association backed Pastor Olatunji Popoola in order to defend the IPAC Code of Conduct which some selfish and demented beggars who lately tagged themselves Osun IPAC Interim Committee wanted to reduce to nothing thereby making IPAC a lawless and unconstitutional advisory body. Also to uphold the Code’s supremacy and to wade off all perceived threats by detractors and enemies of the Council parading themselves as Osun IPAC Interim Committee.
According to the association, it is on record that Osun IPAC under the leadership of Pastor Olatunji Popoola is the most accommodating, friendly, members’ oriented, responsive and pro Oyetola’s government compared to his predecessors. It is also on record that Pastor Olatunji Popoola would be the first Osun IPAC Chairman to have emerged without the State Government intervention/support. Despite millions of naira collected by his political foes they lost the election shamefully.
It stated that Pastor Olatunji Popoola had endeared and accommodated majority and well-meaning members of Osun IPAC irrespective of their political groups, affiliations, ideologies and constituencies.
The Association further stated that all individuals involved in this practice should be mindful that their conduct was prohibited under the relevant sections of the IPAC’s Code of Conduct.
The statement unequivocally stated that IPAC was bigger than the inordinate ambition of any individual and as such, they would not tolerate any unlawful step or steps by those igniting crisis in the Council.
The group finally warn Governor Gboyega Oyetola and the general public to abstain and stop dealing with this group who called themselves IPAC Interim Committee in Osun  state under any illegal or self-appointed Chairman and warned that whosoever transacts any business with them do so at his or her own risk.
The statement revealed that the authentic Chairman of IPAC in Osun State is Pastor Olatunji Popoola who is also the State Chairman of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) and duly recognized by the Osun State Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

He was appointed the military administrator of Lagos State from December 1993 till August 1996, during the subsequent administration of General Sani Abacha. In June 1996, Kudirat Abiola, wife of the acclaimed winner of the 1993 presidential election Chief MKO Abiola, was assassinated on the road between his office and that of the Canadian High Commission. In September 2009, a spokesman for the United Action for Democracy (UAD) accused Oyinlola of being the 'chief conspirator' in the alleged murder.
He retired with the rank of Brigadier-General in 1999.
In April 2003, Ọlagunsoye Oyinlọla was elected governor of Osun State as a member of the ruling People's Democratic Party (PDP). He was reelected in April 2007. He appointed Fatai Akinade Akinbade as State Secretary in 2003. Akinbade was later to be a contender to succeed Oyinlola as governor. In an interview in November 2003, Ọlagunsoye Oyinlọla spoke in favor of increased education in Yoruba, even up to the university level. When asked about the Afenifere movement, he stated that he would join if it were purely an association of Yorubas, but not if it was just another name for the Alliance for Democracy (AD) party.
After the 2007 election, the Action Congress governorship candidate, Rauf Aregbesola filed a petition with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) against his victory. The tribunal rejected his petition. Aregbesola appealed the decision, leading to a fresh hearing in June 2009.
In April 2009, Next magazine reported that Olagunsoye Oyinlola had been caught on tape telling local PDP politicians he would supply army uniforms, arms and ammunition so they could rig the runoff elections in Ekiti State.
In July 2009, Olagunsoye Oyinlola banned Igbo people in Osun state from parading themselves as Eze Ndigbo (king of Igbo), in order to protect the Igbo culture and traditional institution from ridicule. At the same time, he sought constitutional responsibilities for traditional rulers in the country. In September 2009, Oyinlola opened a ceremony at which Modakeke traditional ruler, Oba Francis Adedoyin, was crowned. On 26 November 2010 the Court of Appeal in Ibadan presided over by Justice Clara Ogunbiyi ruled that Oyinlola had not won the 2007 election and that the Action Congress candidate Rauf Aregbesola should be sworn in as governor. He is a former chairman of the board of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) having been appointed in 2017.
On 31 January 2018, he was part of the launch of "Coalition for Nigeria" movement a political movement to check the failings of APC.
