Osun APPPS commends Gov. Oyetola’s role in the formation and defense of Amotekun

OSUN APPPS COMMENDS OYETOLA’S ROLE IN THE FORMATION AND DEFENSE OF AMOTEKUN

The Association of Progressive Political Parties in Osun State (Osun APPPS) has commended Governor Gboyega Oyetola, the Executive Governor of Osun State over the roles he played in the formation and defense of the Western Nigeria Security Network also code-named “Amotekun”.

It will be recalled that governors of the South West region of the country resolved few months ago during a security meeting organized by the Development Agenda for Western Nigeria (DAWN) Commission to have a “western Nigeria security network” code named “Amotekun” in an effort to tackle security challenges in the region and the security outfit was launched early January of this year.
Osun APPPS in a statement by its Chairman, Wole Adedoyin who is also the Osun State Chairman of the Hope Democratic Party (HDP) said Governor Oyetola’s role in the formation of Amotekun will not only contribute to the security of lives and properties of the people, but will also help in improving the economic wellbeing of the good people of Osun State and the Southwestern Region.
The group also lauded Oyetola’s efforts for the numerous security strategies and architecture he has embarked on ensuring that Osun State remains one of the most peaceful States in the Southwestern part of Nigeria.
Osun APPPS further noted that Governor Gboyega Oyetola knows the importance of security for the stability, growth and development of Osun state and the region, stressing that “without it, engagement in meaningful social, political and economic activities, will be virtually impossible”.

We don’t want APC card carrying member as Osun REC – Osun APPPS tells Senate President

We don’t want APC card carrying member as Osun REC – Osun APPPS tells Senate President

The Association of Progressive Political Parties (Osun APPPS) has warned the Senate President not to reconsider the nomination and questioning of Mr. Muideen Olalekan as the Resident Electoral Commissioner representing Osun State of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
It will be recalled that the Senate on the 3rd of December, 2019 rejected the nomination of Raheem Muideen Olalekan as the Resident Electoral Commissioner representing Osun state of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on the ground that Raheem Muideen Olalekan could not defend the allegations of bias levelled against him by a petitioner.
This was contained in a statement issued and signed by the Chairman, Wole Adedoyin and made available to pressmen in Ilesa.
Also recalled that there was mild drama at the Senate Committee on INEC last month November 5 when the Osun State Commissioner nominee for INEC, Raheem Muideen, admitted that he remained a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC). But during the debate on the report, efforts by the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, APC Delta Central to save the embattled nominee failed.
But Wole Adedoyin who is the Chairman of the Hope Democratic Party (HDP) in the state said some powerful, high profile APC members in Abuja has been working underground with the Senate President to reconsider and endorse the appointment of Raheem Muideen, a 46 year old academic who openly confessed of being a bona-fide and card carrying member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) which negates part of constitutional criteria for INEC commissioner.

Don’t dream of 2022 now, Osun APPPS tells Oyetola to enhance wellbeing of Osun citizens

Don’t dream of 2022 now, Osun APPPS tells Oyetola to enhance wellbeing of Osun citizens

The Association of Progressive Political Parties in Osun State (Osun APPPS) has urged Governor Gboyega Oyetola, the Executive Governor of the State of Osun to enhance socio-economic and infrastructure status of the state for the wellbeing of the people. Also, a warning has been sent to Governor Gboyega Oyetola not to dream of contesting 2022 reelection bid now but instead he should fulfil all his campaign promises made to the people of the state in 2018.

Osun APPPS gave this advice yesterday through a press statement issued and signed by the Chairman of the Association, Wole Adedoyin who is also the Osun state Chairman of the Hope Democratic Party (HDP).

In the release, Adedoyin urged the people of the State to continue to support Governor Oyetola’s government policies and programmes in the efforts to transform the state in 2020 and beyond.
However, the attention of the Governor was also called to intervene in the areas of Education, Security, Rural Integration and Health sectors of the state.

Osun APPPS also advised the citizens to continue to give security agencies timely and useful information towards ensuring peace and security in the state and the country.

On the 2022 reelection bid, the association advised Governor Gboyega Oyetola to put that aside and face governance.

According to the release “Oyetola has not fulfilled what he promised the citizens during his electioneering campaign in 2018. We know that some of his current political moves are towards preparing for 2022 reelection bid. Some members of his cabinets are deceiving him, citizens of the state are not smiling mainly because many of them have not gotten dividends of democracy as promised by the governor in the year 2018.”
