Amotekun: APPPS Lauds Southwest Governor’s Response to
Security Challenges
The
Association of Progressive Political Parties (APPPS) has lauded the six southwest
governors namely, Gov. Gboyega Oyetola, Gov. Rotimi Akeredolu, Gov. Kayode
Fayemi, Gov. Dapo Abiodun, Gov. Seyi Makinde and Gov. Babajide Sanwoolu over
their recently launched regional security outfit known as “Western Nigeria Security Network - Amotekun”
aimed at protecting and securing the southwestern region and her citizens.
Also
commending all the governors for their proactive efforts that led to peaceful
existence among the citizens of the region. The group however called for more
cooperation and intelligence sharing among the citizens of the region and
security agencies.
In
a release signed by its Chairman, Mr. Wole Adedoyin, the group applauded the southwest
governors for providing modern equipment to the newly established security outfit
to fight crime in the region.
It will be recalled that Governors in the South West Zone on Thursday, last week in Ibadan flagged-off the operations of the Western Nigeria Security Network (Amotekun), stressing that it would complement the mainstream security agencies in the country.
“Southwest Governors have not only committed
huge financial resources to provide the state-of-the-art equipment to fight
crime, but has also provided the right leadership needed to ensure that the
equipment are adequately put to use.” Adedoyin Added.
