IPAC Does Not Exist in Osun – Osun APPPS, urges National Body to suspend chapter from participating in IPAC National activities.

IPAC DOES NOT EXIST IN OSUN – OSUN APPPS, URGES NATIONAL BODY TO SUSPEND CHAPTER FROM PARTICIPATING IN IPAC NATIONAL ACTIVITIES.

The Association of  Progressive Political Parties in Osun state (Osun APPPS), has reiterated her comment made of recent that the umbrella body of registered political parties does not exist and sedentary in the State of the virtues. Osun APPPS further described those parading themselves as Osun IPAC Excos as irresponsible, inactive and impracticable individuals whose mission is to destroy the umbrella body of registered political parties in the state.

This was contained in a press release issued and signed by Mr. Wole Adedoyin, the State Chairman of APPPS who is also the Osun State Chairman of Hope Democratic Party (HDP).

According to the release, part of the allegations levelled against the current executive of Osun IPAC are: failure of the exco to call for IPAC General Assembly meeting since the inception of their tenure, failure to constitute statutory steering committees as enshrined in the Council’s IPAC Code of Conduct, failure of Osun IPAC leadership to review 2019 general elections conducted in the state which should be aimed at accessing and examining the performance of Osun INEC and security agencies in the last general elections conducted in the state, the report of which should be given to individual political parties and also made available to IPAC National body, failure to update the General Assembly on the body’s activities and programmes attended till date and failure to create communication and networking platforms e.g. Whatsapp Group and Facebook Group where members can be updated, share information and news related to IPAC-INEC activities and events within and outside the state.

The inability of the current IPAC excos in the state to rise to the needs of registered political parties in the state has caused a lot of setback to the political party administration and electoral system of the state.

Since the inauguration of this current IPAC administration in the state. It has been a one man show. A sitting room affair, where an individual and not IPAC General Body decide what should be done. The oneness and unity among registered political parties which IPAC is known for is no more there.

Osun APPPS urged High Chief Peter Ameh led IPAC national leadership to beam his searchlight and investigate the association’s allegations levelled against the umbrella body of registered political parties in the state.

“Osun IPAC is sick, in comatose. Giving such executive members’ mandate to run for another term is like drawing water into a basket. No single activity or accomplishment to show for their achievement.

We also urge the national leadership of IPAC to ask for the chapter’s attendance list of any meeting they called since their inception in office.” The body said.

Osun APPPS finally urged High Chief Peter Ameh to stop featuring the current set of IPAC executive in IPAC national events until they do the needful. Their action so far has contravened IPAC Code of Conduct and should dearly pay for it.
