Osun APPPS Lauds Oyetola, S’WEST Governors Forum on proposed Security Summit


OSUN APPPS LAUDS OYETOLA, S’WEST GOVERNORS FORUM ON PROPOSED SECURITY SUMMIT



The Association of Progressive Political Parties (Osun APPPS), Osun State Chapter has lauded Osun State Governor, Mr. Gboyega Oyetola and his southwest counterparts in Lagos, Ogun, Ekiti, Ondo and Oyo for taking far reaching decisions targeted at securing the region from Fulani Herdsmen and hoodlums.

In a statement issued and signed by the Chairman, Mr. Wole Adedoyin of the Hope Democratic Party (HDP) and Secretary, Elder Adeloye Ogunmodede of the Action Alliance (AA) of the Association, saying the development is commendable and realizable.

Referring to the meeting held by the Governors in Abuja recently, the Association of Progressive Political Parties (Osun APPPS) threw its weight behind the outcome and decisions taken at the end of the meeting which amongst other things proposed a joint task force to be set up to tackle the incidence of insecurity in the region and also harness the competitive advantage of constituent states for sustainable regional development.

Quoting the statement of Chief Rotimi Akeredolu, the Executive Governor of Ondo State who is also the Chairman of Southwest Governors Forum said “There’s an urgent need to stem the growth of criminal activities and banditry in our region and as leaders, we must be proactive in our approach to addressing the issue,”

Osun APPPS finally urged people of the region (mainly from Osun, Ogun, Oyo, Ondo, Lagos and Ekiti) to support and key into this laudable and strategic mission of the Governors
